You are cordially invited to BIOGEOMON 2017, to be held next summer at the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage Site of Litomyšl, Czech Republic.

The symposium will focus on biogeochemistry in an era of global change. Long-term trends in ecosystem functioning and stoichiometry of biogeochemical processes in upland and wetland soils will be emphasized, along with catchment monitoring/modelling, and translocations of nutrients, micronutrients and trace metals in forest ecosystems, grasslands and extreme environments. We look forward to seeing you in the lovingly restored 16th century town of Litomyšl.

Please use the Airport Express to reach the Prague Main Station (Hlavni nadrazi). Trains depart from Prague, the Main Station, and arrive at Ceska Trebova. You can buy a ticket at the Prague Main Station, please note that various companies have their own ticket offices (the name of the company is given on the screen listing all departures). To get from Ceska Trebova to Litomysl, please use either commercial taxis (only several cars are locally available), or the BIOGEOMON shuttle. The BIOGEOMON shuttle will depart from the Ceska Trebova Train Station once every 90 minutes between 12:00 and 19:00 hours, and will make 3 stops at Litomysl: at the symposium venue (chateau), at the teachers dorm, and at the gardeners dorm. Hotels are located within a 5-minute walk from the chateau.

The cost of the BIOGEOMON shuttle is 10 Euro or 270 Czech crowns per person (please have the exact change ready to expedite boarding). Please note that the Registration desk is open between 15:00 and 22:00 hours on Sunday. The Registration desk will be sign-posted. If you arrive at Ceska Trebova later in the evening, you may use our hot line (cell, +420-724344118), and will will forward your request to the (Czech speaking) taxi company.

The symposium ends on Thursday at 16:00 hours. BIOGEOMON shuttles will depart from the symposium venue at 15:20, 16:20, 17:20 and 18:20 to take you to the Ceska Trebova Train Station. The cost of the BIOGEOMON shuttle is 10 Euro or 270 Czech crowns per person, payable upon boarding. The trip takes about 35 minutes.

If you need an earlier departure please hire a taxi (our colleagues at the Registration will assist you, early booking is recommended). Because trains are faster, we do not organize any direct coach service from Litomysl to the Prague airport.
